Coronavirus entry into host cells relies heavily on the structural spike protein (S). The structural biology of S plays important roles in pathogenesis and immune-system recognition during infection. Using feline coronaviruses as models, my work focuses on understanding the dynamic, structural, and immunoevasive functions of coronaviruses. Through protein expression, cryo-EM, and both in vitro and in vivo assays, I hope to further our understanding of how S works to cause severe disease. Outside of lab, I enjoy video games, going to spin class, and trying new foods. Follow me on twitter: @PhoenixCMP
